Larva ID Tips: Caddisflies

Some species of caddisfly build cases of sand, moss, leaves, twigs, pebbles or other materials. Larvae have a cylindrical body with 6 legs and a well-developed head with chewing mouthparts. The end of the abdomen has 2 anal prolegs, each with a claw. Some species have gills on the abdomen.
